Gravitas Fountain Pen - Quark - Ultem

Introducing the Quark, a pocket fountain pen that reimagines compact convenience without sacrificing performance. Crafted from ULTEM resin, a high-performance polyetherimide (PEI) thermoplastic, this material is commonly used in the production of circuit boards, sterilization of medical equipment, and, notably, aircraft components. Known for its exceptional strength, stiffness, and broad chemical resistance, ULTEM is a premium material reserved for highly demanding applications.

Designed to be the smallest pen of its kind, the Quark transforms into a full-sized writing instrument when posted. Its lightweight construction and ergonomically balanced section provide a comfortable and effortless writing experience.

Featuring the new ACME double-start cap threads, which offer a smoother capping and posting action, increased wear resistance, and an improved seal, the Quark effortlessly unveils its nib with just 0.6 turns. When posted, the cap securely threads onto the back in just two turns. The 22mm-long section, ranging from 9.85mm to 9.0mm in width, is precision-engineered from grade 5 material with micro-machined grooves and a bead-blasted finish.

Fitted with a Gravitas-produced size 6 steel nib, compatible* with Jowo No. 6 threads and an ABS plastic feeder, the Quark offers a range of nib options, including Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and Broad.

This pen is also eye-dropper friendly, capable of holding up to 1.5ml of ink or accommodating a standard international ink cartridge.
